SAVE THE iBOT

The iBOT Mobility System gave veterans and others with limited mobility the ability to climb stairs, navigate challenging terrain, rise to eye level and experience greater independence.

When continued production of the iBOT became uncertain, Bob Vincent produced, directed and filmed "Save the iBOT," an advocacy documentary narrated by Gary Sinise. Centered on veterans whose lives had been transformed by the technology, the film helped potential partners understand what the iBOT meant—not simply as an innovative mobility system, but as a source of freedom, dignity and possibility.

THE IMPACT

In a personal letter to Bob Vincent, iBOT inventor and DEKA founder Dean Kamen described the documentary as "the most valuable tool in our toolbox"—adding that DEKA had "some very impressive toolboxes"—for convincing others to help bring the next-generation iBOT to fruition.

Kamen also personally recognized Bob's work producing, directing, filming and editing the documentary.

The film later served as the visual backdrop at American Airlines Sky Ball XV as veterans were introduced who would receive next-generation iBOT mobility systems following FDA approval.

By transforming a complex technological challenge into a deeply human story, "Save the iBOT" became an important communications and advocacy tool in the broader effort to demonstrate the iBOT's life-changing value and build support for its future.
